Thank you for participating in the the first movement of Queer Fires for Peace. On May 12th 2012 hundreds if not a thousands of people created some public demonstration for PEACE.

So many people were moved by this experience that we have decided to continue this as an ongoing movement. The swell of enthusiasm about having this experience has inspired us to set the next date for December 21st 2012. 

Join us by raising Energy for Peace
Cast a Circle for PEACE

Peoples through out recorded history have used the light and warmth of fire ceremonies to set forth an intention. We invite you to join together with people around the world (especially on December 21, 2012) to hold the intention for peace in our world.

Our thoughts, intentions, rituals, prayers, meditations and actions for PEACE do make a difference!

This is a call to individuals, groups and communities to express your commitment to peace through some action on December 21, 2012. Let's add to the energy of a "tipping point" to cease violence and claim peaceful coexistence.

ALL PEOPLE of PEACE Welcomed to sign and take action. Whether you identify as "queer" (usually meaning gay,lesbian,bisexual or transgendered person) or you are a queer ally, you are definitionally queer (outside to box) by standing for peace.

Leave a comment with your name, organization/community and the action for peace you are taking. Tell us where you are focusing your intention for peace (ie. Syria,Queer folk in Africa, my family, political leaders etc)

Fire - A phenomenon of combustion as manifested light, heat and intense flame to destroy the negative tendencies of: Desire, Attachment, Passion, Ego and Anger - Let the Burning Begin!!! : )
When the Burn is complete may the positive tendencies of: Generosity, Freedom, Endurance, Humility and LOVE fill the voids!!!

The fire was lit thousands of years ago with the first smile from one human being to another. Let's keep the flame bright by smiling everyday and knowing for a fact that, no matter who we are, we can all learn from one another. We should all learn from one another.

This idea is magical. We'll be joining you across the Pacific Pond on the 12th of May by individually lighting candles, and posting flame/candle images on Facebook. Between now and the 12th we'll collectively as a Men's-Circle, meditate on Peace daily, and make a fire ritual together. It's a truly prophetic idea to keep the ideal of PEACE in our minds and hearts together across the surface of our planet. Peace is the way...

It is through the action of peace that the world around us can change, and heal the divisons the devide so many of us. Peace however, begins in the human heart of each individual and thus becomes the framework for peace in our world today.

The extended community at Easton Mountain Retreat Center (north of Albany, NY) will be meeting that weekend. We'll have a Queer Fire for Peace as part of our activities on the evening of the May 12. The artist Hunter Reynolds will be leading our ceremony.

I am a member of MCCSF and will concentrate on lighting a queer candle for peace here in Oakland California. I will pray for the softening of the hearts of so many here who carry guns and who utilize them to commit murder. May our collective fires bring peace. Amen.

I will meditate everyday upon this, and on 'the day' will find 'my place' in the back country (there is some in NJ!) and dance with a fire in my soul. throwing my energies out to space with hopes that eternal peace will find a way.
