Dr. Kirk Prine,

on massage, bodywork and experiential workshops that promote sexual/spiritual
integration, healing and recovery, and stress reduction.
Dr.
Prine has a BA in Theology, with a focus on healing practices across
many spiritual traditions; a M.Ed., and Ed.D. in counseling, specializing
in behavioral medicine, sexuality and group work; and a CMT with training
in Swedish/Esalen massage, Jin Shin Do acupressure, rebirthing, Deep
Tissue massage, Amma (a Japanese massage therapy), bodywork for people
facing life threatening illness, and sexual healing work as a sacred
intimate. Dr. Prine is trained in energy work, emphasizing therapeutic
touch, and attuned as a Traditional Reiki Master.
Prior
to practicing in the Bay Area, Dr. Prine spent 17 years a psychotherapist.
During that time he was the co-director of the Healing and Recovery
Workshops, Inc., where he co-facilitated weekly groups on alternative
healing and complimentary therapies. For six years he served as adjunct
professor at the University of Cincinnati, teaching complimentary therapies
as they relate to HIV. Dr. Prine served on the faculty of the East Central
AIDS Education and Training Center.
As
an integrative bodyworker, Dr. Prine has pioneered new models for erotic
spiritual practice. His practice has empowered many queer men to be
lovers of their bodies and souls, and to create intentional erotic and
spiritual community through body-mind-spirit integration. The call for
queer men's community now has developed into Flesh & Spirit
Community.
